Enjoy an early afternoon tour of Wright’s iconic Johnson Wax building in Racine, Wisconsin, followed by a tour of Herbert Johnson’s stunning Wingspread, designed by Wright in 1938. Enjoy a group dinner that evening in Madison, Wisconsin, where you’ll stay overnight.
Saturday, July 12
All-access tour of Wright’s Taliesin in Spring Green, including lunch at Taliesin’s Riverview Terrace Restaurant and an exclusive lecture by a Taliesin archivist. Tour the Hillside Home School, Wright’s first architectural work designed in 1886 for his aunts. Return to Madison and enjoy an evening at Art Fair on the Square or exploring this captivating city on your own.
Sunday, July 13
Witness the astonishing beauty and scale of Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison, designed by Wright in 1938 but not constructed until 1992. Enjoy brunch and a tour of the Unitarian Meeting House in Madison, a National Historic Landmark designed by Wright in 1951, while a member of the congregation. Depart for Milwaukee and a memorable stay at the historic Pfister Hotel.
Monday, July 14
Morning tour of the Milwaukee Art Museum, designed by celebrated architect Santiago Calatrava. Enjoy a special exhibit on the work of George Mann Niedecken, an influential interior and furniture designer who collaborated with Wright throughout his career. Return to Oak Park in the afternoon. |
